Chino Latino Birthday Party

I was invited along by Cartwright Communications, to a night of celebration at Chino Latino. I donned my best Black and Red outfit, including my brand new, red, structured tote bag, that I'm seriously obsessed with, and we headed out! Due to working a long 12 hour shift, by the time we had arrived the night was already in full swing. We entered through the huge glass doors, into the electric main room. Chinese lanterns hung delicately from the ceilings, as the people buzzed underneath them. Everyone was dressed impeccably, and I marvelled at some of the gorgeous black and red outfits people had put together.

We made our way over to the dessert table, because who can resist food at a party! There was an amazing array of macaroons, brownies, fresh fruit with chocolate fondue, and so much more. We were absolutely spoilt for choice! I tried a melt in the mouth macaroon, which was seriously divine, but then I could possibly have inhaled the whole table. I briefly saw some of my wonderful East Midland Blogger friends, who looked like they were having an incredible time too.

Unfortunately, due to the fact I couldn't arrive any earlier, I had missed out on the impressive fire and dragon display, which I have to say, looking at the photo's, looked incredible!

We grabbed a drink, which I really wish I knew the name of, as it was a gorgeous fruity cocktail (I guess I will have to taste test the cocktail menu to find out, wink wink). Drink in hand we decided to have a mingle and walk round. There were numerous food stations, which my husband happily tucked into. The décor was striking, with the bar taking centre stage. I loved how it had luminescent bottles as the backdrop, which really caught your eye. There were also low light fixtures hanging from the ceiling, giving a very romantic hue to the room.

It was the perfect atmosphere to unwind and let my hair down after a long day at work.

Tummies full, we grabbed another drink, champagne for me, and then spent the rest of the evening dancing away. The DJ was amazing, he played such a good mix of music, there was something for everyone! The fabulous drinks and vibrant atmosphere made for a perfect evening.

We were given a wonderful goody bag to take home at the end of the night, which contained some lovely treats including some Miji Sauce, which I'm excited to do some cooking with!

I would like to thank Cartwright Communications for inviting me along to celebrate such a wonderful evening. I am desperate to go back and try some more of Chino Latino's delicious food, and of course cocktails!

How to Style the Bralet with Boohoo*

I was contacted by Boohoo with the challenge of styling the bralet for their underwear as outwear campaign, aptly named 'Peek-a-Boohoo'. Gone are the days of that faded old t-shirt bra, that you used to live in, now it's time to don bra's that are made of intricate lace, exotic patterns and adventurous designs. I was excited to take on the trend and share how I like to style the bralet.

I'm not as daring as those who can rock the bralet with nothing but a suit jacket, though I wish I was, they look amazing! Instead, I like the Peek-a-Boo style, where you can just see a bit of lace peeping out under an outfit. So I got to work scouring their lingerie page, when I finally settled on a delicate, black, long line, lace bralet. There was so much choice in design and styles, that it was hard to choose! You can have a look for yourself.

I decided to style three of my favourite things together; Leather, Lace and Leopard Print. I think that the femininity of the lace looks great contrasted with the toughness of the leather. The *, also from Boohoo, fits like a glove, I love the zip detailing and stitched piping, which really enhance the jacket.

Underneath I popped on an extreme plunge neck* which really shows off the stunning black lace bralette.* Going for the all black everything look, I also wore some staple, black, skinny jeans. I wanted to let the lace and the leopard print do the talking, therefore, I kept the rest of the outfit fairly plain and simple.

Following my Leopard print obsession, I came across these beautiful boots in Primark, for £6.00! What an absolute bargain. They really compliment the overall look, as well as giving it a pop of colour.

I wanted to style this outfit as an everyday, casual wear look. This is because at first, when given the challenge I immediately thought it had to be evening wear, but then when I thought about it more, why not style a bralet for everyday wear! Wearing pretty lingerie always make me feel 100% more sassy and put together. This is what I came up with! I hope you like it.

I'd like to thank Boohoo for giving me the opportunity to share with you how I style this season's Bralet trend. Let me know how you would wear yours!

A Hidden Gem | The Little Shed, Allestree

This little slice of heaven is tucked away on a pretty street in Allestree, Derby. I discovered it through Instagram, and I couldn't believe I had never been before! If there's two things in life I love (other than of course my Husband, Family & Friends) It's home décor and cake. I'm always dragging My husband to oodles of afternoon tea's, quaint cafes and picturesque towns. So when I found out this little gem was right on our doorstep I knew we had to pay a visit.

It was a dreary Sunday morning, and despite not making a reservation, we set off to The Little Shed, in hope that we would chance upon a table.

As we pulled up outside, I couldn't get over how pretty it was, with a little gated patio area and sage green exterior. We made our way inside, and I was even more smitten with the interior décor. There were cute little trinkets like cotton lights, wooden stars and framed quotes everywhere. I frantically made a mental note of all the things I wanted for my own home!

We were very lucky to get a table for two as it was a busy Sunday morning. I would suggest booking a table in advance, which is what we will definitely be doing next time. Luckily for us we had turned up at exactly the right time!

We were seated at our little wooden table, which had some exquisite fresh flowers on it, complete with a gorgeously designed striped menu. It didn't take us long to decide that we were definitely going to go all out and have the classic afternoon tea. I mean it was Sunday after all..

We ordered two coffee's to start with, whilst we waited for them to prepare our platter. Even the cups and plates were adorable, with little stags on my mug and Alice in wonderland themed plates. The attention to detail was spectacular.

When our afternoon tea was presented to us, my mouth dropped at just how much food there was! We had a selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and finally my favourite part of afternoon tea - CAKE!

We munched our way through the sandwiches, savouring the rich flavours of the cheese and red onion chutney, salmon and cream cheese and ham.

Once our bellies were full of savoury goodness, it was time to move onto the cakes, starting with the scones. Served with lashings of cream and oodles of sweet sticky jam, they were mouth-wateringly good. If that wasn't enough sweetness, we then had an array of gorgeous cakes too! Our bellies could only hand the salted caramel brownies, which I have to say were divine, the rest we took home in a little box to have later.

We were brought more coffee as we chatted and ate, which was fantastic. I couldn't think of a more relaxing and perfect way to start off a Sunday, especially when this particular Sunday was pouring it down with rain. It was the perfect hideaway to wile away an hour or two in such a pretty setting.

One of my favourite ways to spend Sunday's is relaxing and re-charging for the week ahead. I like to catch up with family, my husband and also to pamper myself. The Little Shed is the perfect place to enjoy a moment of relaxation.

What's your idea of a perfect Sunday?

Nottingham Fashion Week Blogger Event

Nottingham Fashion Week is right around the corner, so in advance of this, I was invited along to the Blogger's Event for a cheeky preview as to what's going to be gracing the catwalks.

The event was hosted inside Beauty Temple, which is a luxurious salon just off of Market Square. The décor was striking, with lavish velvet sofa's, copper accessories and ornate mirrors. It looked like a beauty lover's haven, and a place I definitely want to go back to for some much needed pampering.

The reception area was the main focal point, boasting stunning draped lighting and a DJ playing the best chart hits. It was adorned with cocktails, cake and pizza. Just off of the reception, was a nail bar, where you can relax with a glass of champagne whilst getting a manicure. There were also treatment rooms, one of which was offering make-overs using Delilah products, which were displayed beautifully around the salon.

On arrival we we're greeted with a pink and super sparkly cocktail, aptly named the Glitter Bomb. It was delicious, and something I'm going to try and re-create at home! There were also some adorable kilner jar mocktails.

MOD Pizza had supplied the event with lots of glorious pizza's and we were also very lucky to receive a free pizza voucher in our goody bag! Who doesn't love pizza. If that wasn't enough, there were also some adorable mini cupcakes for afters.

Once we were thoroughly fed and watered, and had done some much needed catching up with my fave blogger ladies, it was time for the main event.

We were treated to a preview of some of the trends that are going to be featured in the Nottingham Fashion Week Catwalk Shows. What I loved most was the concept of the show's being tailored around the people of Nottingham, and what they can take away from the upcoming trends and then recreate them at home.

The first concept is From Campus to Club, mainly aimed at student life in Nottingham, and being able to translate clothes through both occasions. Retailers such as Primark, New Look, River Island and Dorothy Perkins will be displaying their latest pieces during this show. Perfect to suit all budgets.

The next is Desk to Dinner, aimed at taking workers from their desk to dinner in one outfit. This one has to be my favourite, as I've often had to go from work to events. It's a style I'm trying hard to accomplish in my own wardrobe, pieces that work for all occasions. The retailers featured in this theme will be Warehouse, Marks and Spencer (which I'm loving right now), Next, John Lewis, House of Fraser and Monsoon.

Finally there was Style Classic's that is aimed at those who love high end fashion. Perfect for working out your next investment piece, with the likes of Ted Baker, Karen Millen, Cath Kidston, Jigsaw, White company and Radley show casing their products.

Our sneak peek included some of SS17's top trends, which included; Check's, Floral's, Fuchsia, Sports Lux, Twisted Tailoring and Born in the 80's. A particular favourite of mine is the super sleek, orange, culotte jumpsuit from French Connection, paired with a simple white tee. This would look incredible in the summer with some sandals for a floaty, relaxed look. Then it would also look amazing on it's own, with some killer heels and a matching orange red lipstick. It's definitely a piece I can see fitting into my SS17 wardrobe.

Seeing the upcoming trends has definitely got me excited for some much needed sunshine, I can't wait to fill my wardrobe with new pieces!

The shows are taking place on Friday 24th March and Saturday 25th March at the Council House, and are perfect for getting some style inspiration before hitting the shops! Better yet, the Nottingham in Fashion event is free to attend! You can book your catwalk show seat here at www.itsinnottingham.com/fashion.

At the end of the night we were given a beautiful gift bag to take home. There were some lovely goodies inside including; Treat Kitchen Strawberry and Prosecco flavoured Bon Bons (which look amazing!), a More Nottingham Card, which is a discount card for some great places in Nottingham,  samples of Dior Poison Girl perfume and Diesel Bad, a free mod Pizza, a copy of Exclusive magazine, the Beauty Temple Price List and information about the catwalks themselves.

I didn't get chance to snap any photos of my outfit before or during the event, so I got my husband to take a couple for me when I got home! I went for a smart casual vibe, with a Black blazer, floral wrap top and black skinny jeans.

I'd like to take the opportunity to give a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in organising this event and for making it such an incredible evening of cocktails, food and fashion.

Galentine's Bubbles, Brunch and Beauty with Intu Victoria Centre

On Sunday I was invited for an incredible brunch by the amazing ladies at Intu Victoria Centre, all in the name of Galentine's! We met at the new, and beautiful, prosecco bar, Caffe Rizzoli.

Caffe Rizzoli is located on the first floor of the Intu Victoria centre, its' chic and elegant design is stand out all in itself, but the cake and ice cream cases are enough to draw in even the most determined shopper!

I joined our table and perused the menu, despite it only being 11am, I opted for a Peach Bellini because it was Sunday and why not! The fizz of the prosecco and the zing of the peach puree was a match made in heaven. Bubbles ordered, it was time for the food, we were told that we could order whatever we wanted, and we were utterly spoilt for choice! It was a tough decision, but I decided that I was going to stick to the breakfast theme and opt for the granola.

The service was perfect, the team at Caffe Rizzoli made you feel very welcome and relaxed, especially the owner Jeremy. The presentation was also impeccable, everyone's food looked amazing. I loved the glass dish and fruit arrangement on my granola. The attention to detail didn't go unnoticed.

The granola was tasty and crunchy, which contrasted beautifully with the thick, creamy yogurt on top. I can honestly say it went down a treat! We were told we could also have a dessert, but having had my fill of food already I decided I should perhaps forgo more food! Though admittedly, I was insanely tempted after seeing what some of my other blogging girls had ordered! Instead I treated myself to another cheeky cocktail by the name of Country Breeze.

After munching our way through Caffe Rizzoli's menu we headed over to House of Fraser for make-overs. On arrival we were greeted with more champagne, we were very spoilt! We were then given the opportunity to have a look around the beauty counters. I headed over to Clarin's, Urban Decay and Bobbi Brown.

For my make-over, I had chosen Bobbi Brown as I've never tried any of their products before, so I was keen to see what they were like. The make-up artist was incredible, I told her to do what she liked as I already had a lot of make-up on. She touched up my existing make-up, added some highlight and gave me a pretty, muted, lip colour using the lip liner 'Pink Mauve'. I was really pleased with how it looked. It was nice to relax and enjoy being pampered.

Even though we had already been extremely spoilt with lavish food, drinks and beauty treatments the pampering didn't stop there! We were given some amazing gift bags and a stunning present from Skinny Dip in the form of a super sparkly iridescent purse, which was such a thoughtful surprise.  Skinny Dip actually have a counter in the Intu Victoria Centre!

We received two gift bags which contained some incredible samples to try out. I've already begun using Clarin's multi-active jour cream, and so far I'm really impressed with it. I'm looking forward to working my way through these generous samples, and will definitely give you my thoughts on them soon!

I would like to thank Intu Victoria Centre, Caffe Rizzoli and House of Fraser for their generosity and for putting together this amazing Galentine's event. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday and I'm so grateful for being invited.

When your next in the Intu Victoria Centre I would highly recommend stopping for a drink or a bite to eat at Caffe Rizzoli, I will definitely be taking my husband on our next shopping trip!

What did you get up to this Galentine's?
