Lifestyle | My Party Clutch Bag Essentials

So it is only 5 days until Christmas Day! Where has the time gone?! If your like me you will have a few festive parties or outings to go to over the next few weeks, We don our best outfits, brave the cold and have a good knees up with our friends and family. So I thought I would share with you what I will be carrying around in my clutch bag during this festive period.

My bag of choice this year is this faux leather clutch, with studded detailing on the flap. I love how it's versatile yet has a bit of Christmassy sparkle to it as well. I picked it up from Peacocks for just £14.00! A little bargain in my eyes.

So the first and probably most important thing in my bag is this little sparkly purse, it's also from Peacocks and was just £5.00, it's the perfect size to carry your; I.D, Credit Card and a little cash in. It is quite small but for a night out I like to take the bare essentials.

The second most important thing in my bag is my phone. Not only is it useful for keeping in touch with who you are out with, calling a taxi and other things it is also my substitute for a camera, to capture all those hilarious drunken selfies.

The next three things some of you may frown at, but let me tell you they are secret saviours. Firstly, I take paracetemol everywhere with me, even if I don't need them on the night, I usually do in the morning! When my bag is slung over the bed I can easily grab them and stop the hangover cloud that usually descends on me!

The next two are really handy, a lot of the time there is no soap left in the ladies toilets, particularly in busy clubs. It's always a good idea to carry round some antibacterial hand sanitizer to keep your hands nice and clean, especially if you plan a dinner and drinks event.

The next is tissue, another toilet related problem that most women will encounter on a night out is a shortage of toilet roll. I always carry tissue with me for that reason, but they are also useful if you have a cold or need to clean a spill. They are definitely multi purpose!

The final two items are beauty related, obviously I can't leave home without a couple of products! I always take the lipstick that I'm wearing to touch up every now and again. I also like to take a concealer, to slick under the eyes and around my mouth to keep my make up looking clean and fresh.

So there we have it, the essentials that I will be carrying around in my clutch bag during this busy party season.

Do you think there is anything I should add to my bag that you consider a party essential?

Lifestyle | Boozy Bailey's & Orange Hot Chocolates

Now that the cold has set in and the festive season has dawned on us we are looking forward to cosy nights in watching Elf, or is that just me!?

Sometimes a cold drink just doesn't tickle your fancy on these dark dreary nights, but you still fancy a cheeky tipple? I have the perfect mix!

A Boozy Orange & Baileys Hot Choc-tail. A little twist on the fabulous name Rosie from The Londoner came up with for them, she refers to them as 'Hot-tails' which I love! So Sounds good right? Right!

So here's what you will need:

-Hot Chocolate Powder
-Terry's Chocolate Orange
-Whipped Cream
-Sprinkles (Optional)
-Candy Cane (Optional)

So now you have your ingredients, let's begin.

1. Pour your milk into the pan and add your hot chocolate powder, stir until bubbles develop. This means you've reached boiling point.

2. Break in your Terry's Chocolate Orange segments and stir well.

3. Add a good slug of Baileys (the more the better in my opinion!) Please excuse my nails, they will be repainted soon!

4. Now pour the mix into your cup, add a good dollop of whipped cream and enjoy!

If your feeling a bit cheeky you could use Orange Liqueur instead of the Terry's chocolate orange, for an even more boozy concoction! These sweet treats are perfect for house parties, or just enjoying on your own. I'm drinking mine as I write this post! Enjoy.

Let me know if you try this Orange Chocolaty goodness!

Beauty | Christmas Wonderland Nails

My standard 'Christmas' nails consist of either something red, something sparkly or something sparkly red. This time I thought I would have a go at something a bit different!

I picked up these pretty penguin false nails from Primark for just £1.00 and thought that they would be adorable for this time of year! I work in retail so a lot of people see my hands when I'm working and I like to try and keep my nails looking nice.

I decided to pair this Navy blue gel polish 'Iris Midnight' by Beauty UK with this silver glitter that came in a set from Primark (last year though!). Any blue/navy polish and glitter will do!

First paint one coat of the Navy polish all over the nails, and stick your Penguin on! You can choose any finger I just went for the ring finger.

To help the gel polish set I used the Ultimate Fix Nail Setting Spray*

I was gifted this spray at a recent blogging event and decided that this would be the perfect time to try it out. All you have to do is shake the can, hold it 30cm away from your nails and give them a spray. Do this for every coat in order to help them set. I found that my nails dried so much quicker than usual and there was no flapping the hands around or cursing when they smudged. I'm really impressed!

Add Some silver glitter to the tips of the nails and give them another spray of the Ultimate Fix setting spray, Et Voila! Perfect Pretty Penguin nails for this festive season!

Does any one else struggle painting one hand!? as you can see from the odd navy splodge I certainly do haha.
Do you try out something different on your nails at Christmas?
*This product was gifted to me at a recent blogger event. I was not asked to review the product and have not received anything for doing so. All the opinions I have given are my own honest observations.

Lifestyle | We Celebrated 6 Years

Friday 5th of December was a very special day for us, it marked the fact that me and my other half had been a couple for 6 years! We met back in school, went to prom together and here we are now.

I don't want to over personalise this post, but we have had some amazing memories these past years and what better way to celebrate than go for a meal and chat about them all?!

pizza express

We went for a personal favourite of ours, Pizza Express, and devoured 3 courses each! and a few cheeky drinks. We munched our food and whiled away the evening chatting about the past and our future escapades.

We both had starters, Pizza for main and a dessert! The desserts were scrumptious, both of us went for a chocolate option. I had gooey chocolate brownies and he opted for a sweet chocolate log.

After we had eaten our fill, and boy had we! We pottered off home to settle down in front of the T.V. A perfect evening.

Beauty | *Xenca Five a Day+ Review

As some of you may recall from my previous post about the Nottingham Blogger meet-up I had heard a fantastic talk by Suzie, a representative of Xenca.

Suzie had come to the blogger meet to talk about two of Xenca's products, the collagen supplement and the Five a Day+ powder. I was immediately taken with Suzie as she was all about natural beauty and beauty from within. Which I think stands for a lot, you can have all the beauty products in the world but what you do with your insides counts the most. Although I am no advocate to healthy eating as I have a never ending love affair with Wispas, I do try to eat a varied diet (minus the meat!) However, have you ever found there's just not enough meals in a day to get all your nutrition? This is where Five a Day+ can help. It's by no means a replacement, more of an additional helping hand.

First things first, do not be put off by the colour! It is a very pond like looking substance, but I can assure you that if you mix it with orange juice it tastes really good. I wouldn't recommend just mixing it with water though as I find it is an acquired taste, however if you use orange juice you get an extra one of your five a day right there!

Xenca Five a Day

I like to take mine in the morning with my breakfast to give me the best start to the day. Working full time means I need as much energy as I can possibly muster and this has certainly helped. The powder contains some super food's such as; Spirulina which is important in bone health and heart health, as well as Chlorella which has been found to have more protein than meat! That bit was key for me as I don't eat meat (very long story involving food poisoning!) and therefore finding an alternative source of protein is very important.

So I have been using the Five a Day+ now for nearly 3 weeks and although differences have been subtle, there are definitely differences. Suzie informed me that it would take a few weeks of use before I would notice any changes and that was fine by me, there aren't any miracle products out there that work over night and I didn't expect this to be any different. I have however started to notice that even though I work the same hours I always have I don't seem to hit a wall of tiredness anymore. Usually I would get home after a shift and want a nap, now I don't! That's an amazing bonus for me as I always want to do a lot of stuff when I get home and I just didn't have the energy. I have also noticed my skin has been a lot better, I don't know if this is coincidental or not, but I am liking it!

Xenca Five a Day

It's recommended that you have 1tsp a day for normal use, but if you are injured or an athlete you can increase this. I just stick to 1tsp. Suzie also said that if you drink this before a night out drinking then drink it again when you get in you shouldn't get a hangover!  I haven't tested this out yet but with Christmas coming up I will definitely be giving it a go. Anything for a headache free day!

If you fancy trying the Five a Day+  out for yourself you can purchase it

I may do a follow up post when I have finished the pot to let you know how I get on in a few months time.

Have you tried any of the Xenca products?
