Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara | A Review

Today I am bringing you a Mascara review. The soap & Glory, Thick & Fast mascara is currently my go to mascara for lengthening and thickening. As you can see from the photo of my bare eye, my eyelashes look pretty non-existent. This is due to the fact they are a very light brown and therefore I always look for a good black mascara to enhance them.

The Soap & Glory mascara is a bit like fine wine, it gets better with age. When I first purchased this mascara I really didn't think much of it, however, out of the blue I decided to give it another go. That was it, I began reaching for it everyday. You can build the volume from 1-2 coats for day and 3-4 for a bold evening lash.

I love the way it lifts and extends the lashes, as well as adding thickness and volume. I've found with many a mascara that they either do one or the other. Well this does both! I would highly recommend giving this mascara a try if you are looking for both volume and length in your lashes.

Now, I am a bit of a mascara fiend and thus I have recently purchased Maybelline ''The Falsies'' mascara after hearing its praises sung by many other bloggers. The quest for THE mascara continues, but so far Soap & Glory wins hands down.

What's your favourite mascara?

The Sunday Post

Hello Lovelies! Sunday is here again, and this time it is a special one! It's Father's Day. Despite being at work all day today I made sure I was up to give my Dad his presents and wish him a good day. I must say working on a Sunday isn't the most pleasant thing, roll on 4pm haha.

This week has been its usual predictable self, however, I did manage to squeeze in a nice long summers evening walk, the sunset is just so beautiful. Then Saturday night we all gathered around to watch England play at the world cup. It was a good night full of laughs and a bit of drink.

This week is set to be a week full of planning, I have my Birthday coming up soon, which I will be turning the grand age of 21! so I have a few things to sort out for that. Then the following week after my Birthday we set off on our month long trip, therefore I have bits and bobs that need preparing for that too. Lots and Lots of lists shall be made this week! Is there anyone else that loves a good list?

I am going to keep this Sunday post short and sweet as I only have 15 minutes until I need to be leaving, hope you all have had a good weekend!

The Summer Shoe Edit

Switching up your shoes according to the season is probably just as important as switching up your wardrobe. You don't want to have uncomfortable, sweaty, swollen feet. No thank you ! Here are my top 4 picks for summer footwear.

White Heeled Jelly's- Select

1. The Jelly

Jelly shoes have made a statement this spring/summer season. Another huge trend has been an all white outfit. So these little beauties embody two of the biggest current trends in a clean and shiny pair of shoes. These are so reminiscent of my childhood that I just couldn't resist them. They are both simple and statement with the neutral colour tone and cleated heel. On a comfort scale they are extremely comfy and easy to walk in.

2. The day time heel

Black Buckled and Cut out. These shoes have everything you could want in a summer shoe. They have cut out detailing to allow the foot to breathe, they have a small heel to give you an extra boost in height and they have an open toe detail to show off your freshly manicured toes. Whether you are going to lunch or out shopping these shoes are the perfect piece to your outfit. Best of all I can't get over how comfy they are, I wore them all day shopping and was perfectly comfortable. They are the perfect balance between a heel and a sandal.

3. The Flat

Monochrome is probably my favourite thing to wear, I just can't get enough of it. I just think it looks so sophisticated and easy to wear that you can't go wrong. These slightly pointed flats combine the class of monochromal tones with the statement of clashing textures. I love the snakeskin texture of the white. They are comfy and easy to wear with any outfit, the closed toe also means if there are any sneaky showers you not end up with soggy toes!

4. The comfies

A summery peach pair of lace up pumps. The bright summer shade adds a spring to your step- sorry couldn't resist!! The lace up style provides good support for your feet, perfect for those long sunny walks with the dogs. The soft material keeps pesky blisters at bay and they also look even cuter with frilly socks! They are my go to shoes when I am planning to be standing/walking a lot.

Hope you enjoyed this post and having a peek into what I will be wearing on my feet for the majority of the Summer season!

Sunset Tropics

Dress- Peacocks
Blazer- Primark

So this Sunday I went to watch a band play at a local club, Hallows Day, I thought I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get a little dressed up. However, we have had really unusual weather just lately. It has been humid and warm yet absolutely miserable. So choosing what to wear has been a nightmare, should you wear less to be able to bare the humidity and risk getting drenched? Or do you cover up, sweating away yet keep dry. I decided on a mix, a nice cotton floaty dress to keep me cool yet tights and a jacket to keep me dry.

Also please excuse my random bit of hair sticking up that refused to be pinned down and also my squinty eye from the camera flash, does anyone else's eyes do this?! I wanted to include some close ups of my make-up, albeit they are not the most flattering, they were the best of a bad bunch. I am wearing my current favourite lip product the Rimmel Apocalips in ''Stellar''. I just love the bright bold colour of it and I think it really compliments the colours in my dress.

All in all it was a lovely evening in good company with good music. What could be better?

The Sunday Post

This weekend has certainly been one full of indulgence. Food, alcohol and cake! It has been quite a stressful week work wise, and in celebration of me and my Fiancé  both finally finishing university we decided to go out for dinner and drinks. Three years have flown by so quickly it is hard to believe, however, I must admit I am glad it's over. I don't want to see another essay again. Ever!

I took him to Chiquitos again, I think it is going to be one of my favourite haunts. I love spicy food and this certainly delivers, you not find a boring veggie burger here. Oh no, it is full of chilli and jalapenos, yum yum yum. I also treated myself to a few of their delicious fruity cocktails, one of my favourites being the frozen strawberry daiquiri. The service is really good in the sense that you have your own server, meaning you never have to leave your seat once you've sat down. Drinks are brought to you and even payment is made at the table!

On Saturday it was my Grandma's 65th birthday so all of our family gathered round at hers for a takeaway and cake.. More cake! She isn't a party person and therefore this was the perfect celebration for her, just having all the family there. It's always nice to have all the family together under one roof as we are all scattered about and don't get to meet up very often.

There's plenty of food photography here, hope you are all hungry! haha. I thought I would show you my Grandma's garden as she is really proud of it, with all the flowers, green house and vegetable patch it really is the dream garden. It was especially nice that all day if had rained, thundered and there was even lightening, but once it got to the afternoon the sun made his appearance and all brightened up. The perfect evening.

Hope you've all had a good weekend!
