The Striped Embroidery Shirt You Need this SS17

❄❄❄❄❄❄❄

Although spring feels a million miles away right now, I am over my winter wardrobe. I am yearning for some spring warmth, to break out the pastels and floaty fabrics, and no longer be buried under layer upon layer of clothing.

I made my first spring purchase recently, which is this gorgeous, blue striped, embroided shirt from . I love the light weight, structured fabric, it'll be perfect for those warmer days. For now I'll be wearing it with a coat!

Embroidery is set to continue being a key trend this ss17. It's translating everywhere, from clothes to bags, to shoes. I personally love the intricacy and vibrant colours that these embroided flowers have on this shirt. They give a staple item a beautiful edge.

I wanted this outfit to be really comfortable and casual, so I decided to wear it untucked and loose with my black faux leather skirt, which is also from Next. This skirt goes perfectly with most shirt's and jumpers and it's an easy to wear piece, which is why I reach for it on a weekly basis.

I popped on some thick cosy tights, and plain black boots to complete the outfit. I decided to keep the rest of the outfit very simple and plain as I wanted the shirt to take centre stage.

My jacket is from Primark, and is classic and structured. I needed to add a black coat to my wardrobe as I have and array of different coloured coats from pink to khaki to camel, but no monochrome, so therefore I needed to add a neutral 'goes with anything' piece to it.

I've seen many stores coming out with very similar styles of this shirt, so it should be easy to find one to suit you.

The Classics

I've called this style post 'The Classics' as the whole outfit is made up of staple wardrobe pieces; A leather jacket, monochrome shirt and dark denim skirt. All items that are so versatile and can be worn separately, to create numerous outfits, as well as look amazing together.

I adore my faux leather jacket, it is definitely such an easy wearable piece. You can put it on with jeans and trainers for an edgy style, or have it slung over a silky dress, it works for both.

I chose this monochrome patterned shirt to keep the outfit simple, yet also add a bit of intrigue through the speckled pattern, it's a loose fitting, chiffon shirt - so really lightweight! Which is essential during this mid/end of season ,where we all really don't know whether to be buying dresses or coats!

Finally to tie the whole look together I wore a black, button down,  denim skirt. These skirts are so flattering and comfortable to wear. You can style them with a plain t-shirt and converse for that 'off-duty' laid back look, or a pretty shirt and heels for a glam day time vibe. Personally I can't wait to wear it with chunky knitted jumpers and some patterned boots! Stay tuned for that post!

Pyjama Top Styling

What a wonderful idea, inventing a Pyjama style top for outside wear? The ultimate comfort and style fix! When I saw this silky floral beauty, hanging elegantly in the aisles of River Island, I knew it had to be mine.

I had lusted after these tops for a while, but couldn't find one that fitted the bill, until of course I saw this one. I love the muted floral pattern, and my head filled with outfit ideas as soon as I saw it, leather trousers and heels, denim dungaree dresses, skirts.. so many outfits!

On this occasion we were off to a food festival, so I decided to pair the shirt with a black denim dungaree dress from Primark, and some black tassel boots, I was aiming for a boho casual vibe.

I've always been a strong believer that accessories are the focal point of any outfit. I chose a tan felt trilby. a black choker, and brown tinted sunglasses to complete my outfit. I had been on the hunt for a choker, and loved the circle design on this River Island one. It has an adjustable strap so it will fit perfectly on all necks, which was a must as I didn't want it too tight, or slipping down! The hat was such a bargain, just £3 from Primark!

This outfit was really comfortable all day, even after eating all of the food!

Slip Dress Styling

Happy Sunday! I managed to sneak in a cheeky outfit shoot as I am in love with this slip dress & T-shirt combo from Primark - I know I practically live in there!

Slip dresses have been a huge trend for a while now, from sexy slinky silk ones, to more edgy velvet ones, you name it there's a slip dress for it. However, I just felt with my body type the trend wasn't that flattering on me, that was until I saw this combination. I really like how the outfit is still girly with the cute ditsy daisy print, but it's made more wearable and casual by layering it over the top of this plain white tee.

The material is soft, airy and floaty, meaning that it's perfect for a summer's day. It could be worn bare legged with tan flats and a huge floppy hat, or even be worn with trainers for a sport luxe twist. The possibilities are endless, which is why it worked it's way into my ever expanding wardrobe.

As it was a Summer's night I decided to pair the slip dress with this over-sized, baby pink trench coat, also from Primark. I really like how the coat adds a pop of colour to the outfit, but it's still very season appropriate. The cut and fit of the jacket is very flattering and it moves easily with you, instead of not being able to lift your arms above waist height, wahoo!

I can definitely see myself wearing both these pieces endlessly throughout the rest of this season, and maybe even into next season! I'm already picturing it with knee high boots and a burgundy suede biker jacket, someone stop me!

I Have Nothing To Wear

After shooting this outfit, I realised that it's actually all from Primark! I just can't resist that place.

The first thing I saw when I was shopping was this 'I have nothing to wear' t-shirt, this sums me up perfectly! I'm always moaning that I have nothing to wear, when clearly I do.

I love dressing down, as much as dressing up now if I'm honest, casual wear is something I've been buying more of. I like the idea of adding pieces to my wardrobe that are versatile. I can picture myself being able pair this t-shirt with a floaty skirt and strappy sandals for a summer picnic, or with skinny black jeans, a leather jacket and heels for date night.

For this outfit I decide to go super casual, an everyday, running errands, kind of outfit. I decided to pair the t-shirt with a relaxed fit, light denim, pair of jeans, and a khaki utility style jacket. Both of which are also from Primark.  I think the key to casual dressing is all about the accessories, taking an outfit from plain, to styled. I chose this monochrome paisley neck tie, and rose gold sunglasses, to tie the whole look together.

Summer Dreaming

Monochrome sleeveless jacket- Peacocks | Jeans - Primark | T-shirt - Primark | Boots - Primark | Bag - Ted Baker

Wahoo, the sun finally made an appearance after what felt like an eternity of rain! I'd been waiting for a day like this to shoot this summery boho inspired look, and when the sun finally descended on us I turned to bae and was like, that's it get the car ready were off to take outfit photos! Normally this would cause him to groan, however, thanks to Pokemon Go it was a win, win, situation for us both, Hoorah!

I bought this gorgeous, light weight, monochrome sleeveless jacket a while ago and couldn't wait to wear it. I could picture it with casual tees and denim shorts, and although it was the hottest day of the year, I just couldn't bare the thought of my milk bottle legs being on show - next time I will remember to fake tan! Instead I opted for some light denim, mom style jeans.

I love the high waist fit of the jeans and find this style very flattering on me, as I'm not the tallest person! I paired it with a simple brown belt and some matching brown ankle boots. My casual tee, believe it or not, was from Primark Men's section for a bargain £2.50! I prefer the men's t-shirts because I love the high necks on them, I find the women's ones are always very low cut!

We frolicked about in the warm setting sun, strolling hand in hand, only broken when there was a Magmar in the near vicinity. It was a lovely summers night.

Monochrome Paisley Print

What is it with all this rain? It's supposed to be summer, yet I'm pretty sure it's just skipped straight to autumn! It's been hard to snap any outfit posts, but I managed to squeeze in this cheeky outfit by diving outside as soon as the shower stopped!

I wore this outfit for my Pre-Birthday party yesterday, I'm actually going away on my Birthday weekend this year, but still wanted to do something with my friends. I decided to just have some food and a few quiet drinks at our house which was perfect.

This monochrome paisley print playsuit (try saying that fast!) is a sneaky Primark find. I absolutely love all the detail on it, from the print itself, to the cold shoulders and tassels. It's very festival/boho chic. Even better, it's comfy and floaty.

I paired it with a Mock croc tan bag, a western style buckle belt and a long dainty necklace. I think it worked well together and was extremely comfortable all night.

SS16 Flower Power

Shirt - Primark | Skirt - Next | Bag - New Look | Boots - Peacocks

Hurray for better weather! The sun has been shining this past week, and I decided to embrace it with open arms. I made a sneaky purchase, which included this gorgeous floral belted skirt from Next. I really love the pattern, and neutral summery green colour. It fits perfectly and is very flattering on.

I decided to pair it with a classic white shirt, that I've tied in a knot to give it a more bohemian, less formal, vibe. Though the weather has been warmer, I'm not prepared to go bare legged just yet! So popped on some trusty black tights and black boots. I can see this skirt looking great with tan sandals and bare legs though!
