What's in my Travel Beauty Bag

I love taking trips, and I find them the perfect excuse to try out new beauty products. I love a good pamper night, and after busy days exploring a new place, there is nothing better than settling down for the night and giving yourself a nice re-fresh.

I thought that with my trip to Devon, I would share with you all what I have packed in the beauty department.

The best way to try out new beauty products whilst travelling is through samples or travel mini's. Not only are they space saving, but they are a good way to save money when trying out something new.

I decided to browse Boots and see what mini's caught my eye.

First I spotted this Moisture Burst Facial Wash by Sanctuary Spa. I'm always open to trying new skin care and was enticed to try this due to the fact that sea air can be quite drying. Therefore I'm hoping the moisturising properties in this will help to keep my skin nice and soft.

Along the same lines of wanting to add moisture to my skin, I picked up this Hydrating Day Cream by Botanics. It has SPF 15 in it which is really handy for those sunny summer days as well as being hydrating. I also liked the fact it has a brightening for those days that I want to wear less foundation.

I got these two Clarin's samples in a goody bag from a recent blogger event and have been saving them for a special occasion, thus they have made it into my travel bag! One is a Antioxidant day cream that targets fine lines, and the other an eye gel that counteracts dark circles and puffiness. Even after a good nights sleep I still have bags under my eyes! So I'm excited to see if this will help to reduce these.

As an avid lover of winged liner and lashings of mascara I'm always on the hunt for a good eye make-up remover. Panda eyes? No thanks! I'm excited to try this Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover by Clarins, especially as it is for sensitive eyes. It's such a cute dinky bottle that fits easily into my wash bag.

This Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm sounds like the perfect night out cream to pop on under your foundation, and give your skin that summer glow. I'm very excited to use this, as during our holidays we tend to pack in as much as we can, so by night I'm feeling a little exhausted!

Another Illuminating cream.... can you tell that I love these yet? It probably seems a tad excessive but I just couldn't decide which to take along so thought, seeing as it's a staycation and there's no luggage restriction, I may as well take all the ones I want to! Again it has SPF 15 in, which again, is perfect for summer.

I've also packed two sheet masks, that I'm not sure if I will get time to use but thought it would be a nice way to relax if I do!

What are your favourite travel products?

A Valentine's Day Inspired Make-Up Look

I wanted to put together a make-up look that was fit for Valentine's day, one that could be worn for having brunch with the girls, a date night with your partner or having a bit of 'me' time. I decided to stick with what I know best, a bold lip. I absolutely love this purple toned pink, and I think it would suit most people.

For my base I used this Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, which I apply a small amount evenly all over my clean face. This helps my foundation apply much more seamlessly by smoothing out my pores.

For foundation I used my trusty Estee Lauder Double Wear, in the shade Cool Bone. This is my every day holy grail beauty product. If I could only ever buy one foundation it would be this one. It's easy to apply and you can build it up from medium coverage to high coverage.

I then used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes. This helps to brighten up my face and conceal any redness.

For my cheeks I have used Sleek's 'Chantilly' Blush from their Blush by 3 palette, which is a stunning coral colour. I sweep this over the apples of my cheeks, for a fresh faced 'pinched' look.

I then use Sleek's Solstice Highlighting Palette. I have opted for the 'Equinox' highlight, and applied it all over the tops of my cheekbones. I've received so many compliments about how radiant and glowing I am when I've worn this highlight, that I'm going to do a whole separate review on it!

Finally, I apply a bit of Collection's Pressed Powder along my nose and chin, to keep the shine at bay.

For eyebrows, I have again, used two of my favourite products, the Benefit 'Ka Brow' and 'Gimme Brow'. I was lucky enough to try these products when they were first launched and they have quickly become my eyebrow staples.

Ka Brow is a brow pomade that I apply in light strokes along my brows, to make them look much fuller. I then apply Gimme Brow on top, which adds texture and extends my natural brow hair. The two together are a Brow match made in heaven.

For my eyes I wanted a smoky gold eye with a hint of purple. I used Sleek's Vintage Romance Palette. I started by applying the shade 'Meet in Madrid' which is the gold shade, second along on the first row, all over my lid. This gave a warm shimmery look to the eye.

I then took 'Marry in Monte Carlo,' the purple shade, second along on the second row, and applied this in the corner and crease of my eye. I blended this out to be very light smoky wash of colour.

To finish I applied a mid toned brown from my Urban Decay Naked palette to deepen the whole look up.

I created winged liner using my Rimmel Scandaleyes liquid liner, which has an easy to use pointed tip. To finish I applied Nyx Doll Eye Mascara to my top and bottom lashes.

I love these colours together as they give a really soft, romantic edge to my make-up. By using a purple tone shadow with the golds and browns it gives the whole look a unique twist.

For my lips I've used Nyx's Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Prague' as the focal point of this whole make-up look. It's a stunning purple toned pink, that really pulls the whole look together.

The staying power of this Matte Lip Cream is incredible too. I went for afternoon tea and it lasted really well, which makes it perfect for Valentine's Day dinner and drinks. The consistency is light and it isn't too drying, I only had a small amount of flaking right on the inside of my lips, but I had been scoffing cake and coffee, which probably did it no favours!

I hope you enjoyed this make-up look, what are your plans this
Valentine's Day?

Covershoot Cosmetics Review | AD

[AD] When I was contacted by Covershoot Cosmetics to see if I would be interested in trying out their new line of cosmetics, I jumped at the chance. I love discovering brands and trying out new looks with my make-up. I'm constantly changing it up, and striving to improve my skills. Covershoot Cosmetics are a newly emerging, affordable, make-up brand, that already have a few products released in Savers and Poundland. I was intrigued to find out more about their range.

When my Blogger Box arrived, I couldn't wait to get stuck in and test out the products. I loved the presentation, from the simple classic box, to the pretty pink paper. There had definitely been some thought put into the whole presentation.

Inside my box, there was; An eyebrow kit, A contour kit, a grey smokey eye palette, a neon bright eye palette & a Twist Pot nail varnish remover.

I first tested out the Grey Smoky eye palette. I love the smooth, easy to blend texture of these shadows. They apply so easily, and the pigmentation is buildable, from a subtle smoky look, to a striking, glamorous evening look.  Another thing I love is the shade range. To say that the palette only has 5 shades, they cover all angles perfectly. You have the lightest shade for your brow and inner corner highlight, two lid shades (if your going for a more subtle look, you could use the lighter lid shade all over, and the middle one as your crease defining colour). Then there's two crease colours, again, depending on how striking you want the look to be, you can use either, for two completely different looks. The packaging is simple, easy to clean and compact, making it convenient to pop in your make-up bag. It's the perfect little travel palette.

I'm not going to lie, this palette scared me a bit! If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know that I'm a huge lover of a neutral smoky eye. So being faced with the prospect of a neon palette really daunted my play-it-safe self. However, that being said, these colours are going to be perfect for creating unique make-up looks, and gave me an amazing idea for a Halloween look that I will be creating very soon - Keep your eyes peeled! Similarly to the grey smoky palette the pigmentation is good and very buildable. They blend together easily and apply smoothly.

The Contour Kit is one of my favourite products by Covershoot Cosmetics. It consists of three cream colours; one dark contour colour, one medium bronzer and one highlight colour.

For my paler skin, I decided to use the bronzer as my contour, which was the perfect match. It applied so well and didn't smudge my other face products. It was easy to build up the colour, and achieve the look I wanted. Another bonus to this contour kit is it wasn't orange and there's no shimmer in it, which I was really pleased about. It really creates a lovely warm natural glow to the face. What I also love is the fact that it comes with a 'how to' guide on the inside of the lid, which shows you where to apply the products. This is great if  your new to the world of contouring and highlighting, as you will find it much easier to use! It's the perfect little kit for any starter make-up bag and I would say it's definitely a make-up staple.

The Eyebrow Kit is similar to the contour kit in the fact that it comes with an easy to follow guide, perfect to help you get those brows looking striking. I particularly love how it's a complete set, containing the cutest mini tweezers and handy angled brush. Again it's perfect for those of you who are looking to build the foundations of your make-up kit, or for travelling, as it's so compact, yet has all you need! The pigmentation, like other Covershoot Cosmetics powders, is really lovely and very buildable. However, unfortunately for me, the beige colour is still a tad too dark for my very blonde brows, but it's the perfect kit for those of you lovely dark browed ladies. Since Brows have been the fore front of every beauty regime this year, this palette would be really useful at making applying your brows in the morning effortless.

The final product I got to test out in my Blogger Box is this little beauty! The Twist Pot Nail Varnish Remover. This is seriously my new holy grail nail product, I've never found it easier to remove my nail varnish. You simply dip your finger inside the pot, which has sponges soaked in nail varnish remover inside, give it a few twists, remove your finger, Et Voila! The nail polish is all gone. No faffing around with cotton wool stuck to your fingers, or using half a bottle of remover on one finger. So simple to use and mess free! It doesn't smell too bad either which is always a bonus!

Overall, I'm really impressed by Covershoot Cosmetic's range of products, and because they are a new brand I'm excited to see what the future holds for them. I already have my eye on their Baked Highlighters. I will also definitely be keeping the Twist Pot in my every day essentials, as it's such a lovely concept and so easy to use!

If anything has taken your fancy, you can find out more about Covershoot Cosmetics range on their website, or if your a social being like myself, you can also find out more via their Twitter account .

A huge thank you to Covershoot Cosmetics for sending me these gorgeous products to try out!

Benefit's Brow Launch | Nottingham John Lewis

Benefit is a brand I've always been drawn too, I love their playful packaging, and punchy product names. What I love even more is that they create such easy to use, effective products. I'm already a huge fan of their Hoola Bronzer, Porefessional Primer and Bad Gal Lash, which are among some of my make-up bag essentials. So when I was invited along to the Benefit Counter, at John Lewis in Nottingham, to get a sneaky preview and test out their brand new Brow Collection which launches on 24th June, I jumped at the chance! My Brows are probably the thing I struggle with most. So when I was greeted by the lovely Shadrine I was excited to see if she could help me solve my browlema.

I poured out my woes about having fair, sparse and lack-lustre brows, Shadrine was extremely attentive and got to work straight away to try and help me solve it! Just to give you an idea of what I mean by sparse & lack lustre, here's a picture of my natural, unfilled and un preened brows.

Definitely not brows on fleek. First we went through Brow Mapping, which is the technique of pin pointing the natural shape of your brow in relation to your features. I had my brows marked out where they should start, arch and end before she began, so that we could create the perfect shape.

Once we had mapped out my brows it was time to test out the new products! The first of the new products that was suggested to me, and one I really wanted to try, was the Goof Proof Pencil. This is a double ended pencil, one end is the actual brow pencil itself, the other a built in spooly! Goof Proof is available in 6 different shades, yes that's right 6! So much more choice than the standard; light, medium and dark! Being a fair-skinned blonde, we tried shade 1 on me. I was talked through how Goof Proof is exactly as it's name suggests, a fool proof brow pencil. It has a brilliant pointed end to help achieve those clean angles and help shape the brow easily. It simply glides on, and it's also waterproof! Hello summer holiday brows.  This pencil is good if you want perfect brows in quick time. Use it to fill in sparse areas, and create the perfect arch, then brush through after with the spooly to create a smooth, preened look.  I did love the concept of Goof Proof and how easy it is to use, but with my Browlema I needed a higher coverage product.

Brow filled in with Goof Proof Shade 1.

To try and give my brows even more stand out power, and disguise those pesky sparse areas, the next product we tried was the Ka Brow Eyebrow Cream-Gel.  I've never tried a gel brow product before, I've always been a powder and pencil kinda gal, but I can firmly say I'm now a convert! This super effortless formula is easy to use, as it comes with it's own extendable brow brush, and you can build up the coverage to suit the look you're going for by using light strokes for a natural look, or go all out for highly defined brows. Like Goof Proof it is also waterproof, and claims to last 24 hours! What's not to love! Again, this product comes in 6 different shades so there is bound to be a shade that suits you, I fit into number 1.

Brows filled in with Ka Brow shade 1.
As you can see from the two photos, by using Ka Brow my brows look a lot more defined whilst still being more on the natural side, and not a sparse patch in sight!

We also dabbled with a bit of the Brow-zings, which is a product I'm more familiar with. Brow zings is a powder and wax compact, that is super easy and simple to use. You just use an eyebrow brush to apply the powder to your brow, and then set it using the wax. A very handy product to have in your make-up bag, especially for those days you need an extra 10 minutes in bed. We've all been there!

Once I had found the best product for my brows, though in all honesty I love them all! It was time to jack them up (I watch far too many Say Yes to the dress).

3D Brow Tones was applied which subtly enhanced my newly defined brows, by adding multi tones and giving them depth. Brow Tones has a small easy to use brush applicator, that is just the right size to get a good all over application. By adding Brow Tones on top of Ka Brow it made my brows look more natural and dimensional, instead of one flat block of colour.

Next, we wanted to make sure that my brows weren't going to budge, although with Ka Brow being 24 hour long lasting, and waterproof, I'm sure they weren't going to anyway! Yet, for more sticking power I had Ready, Set, BROW! applied over the top of everything. This is a 24 hour clear, setting gel, that is basically the glue for holding your brows in place, however, the good thing is it isn't sticky!

To finalise the whole Brow Transformation High Brow, a pearly pink highlight, was applied underneath my eyebrows to really open my eye area and lift my brows. I love how effective this product looks, and I instantly looked fresher and awake.

My Brow transformation was complete! The transformation didn't stop there though, I was allowed to have a mooch around the gorgeously presented counter and pick a few more of their products to try!

My eyes landed on the gorgeous packaged Fake Up creamy concealer, Fine One One 3 in one Blusher and Hervana Powder Blush. As you can see I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to packaging and these products didn't disappoint!

Fake Up creamy concealer is the perfect under eye concealer, it's very luminous and makes your face look bright and fresh. This was applied in a V shape under my eye's and then blended in. The difference this product made to my complexion was staggering, and definitely something I'm going to invest in.

So what do you do after having a whole hour being pampered, and having your Brows transformed? Take as many selfies as possible of course!

I am totally in love with how my brows look, they really give my face definition.

I was so grateful to be given a beautiful goody bag with some of the products used on me, so that I can have a go at re-creating the brows at home. It also included the most gorgeous Passport cover that is definitely going to be coveted on my upcoming Honey Moon!

Overall, I am so impressed by the new Benefit Brow Collection. Everything from the packaging, to the innovative products is on point.

Also the customer service I received at the Nottingham John Lewis Benefit counter was amazing, I felt really comfortable and at ease in the hands of Shadrine, who really knew her stuff about all of the products. I loved how my brows looked at the end, and I am extremely thankful for being given the opportunity to try out the new products. When the collection Launches on 24th June I will definitely be getting my hands on some of them!

I hope you enjoyed this post, which of the new Benefit Brow products do you have your eyes on?

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Palette Review

Just before Christmas I decided to treat myself to Urban Decay's new palette that was collaborated with Gwen Stefani. I was immediately sold by the packaging, let alone the beautiful choice of shadows inside. Urban Decay are my go to brand for eye shadow. I have all 3 of the Naked Palettes and was very tempted by the Smokey palette, however, because I'm very fair I didn't think I would get the most wear out of it and sorrowfully decided not to buy it.

What grabbed my attention with this Gwen Stefani Palette is, that not only does it have a beautiful selection of neutral tones, it also has some striking pops of colour too for those brave days.

The palette contains 15 shades, ranging from beautiful champagnes to vivid blue. There are 10 neutral toned shades and 5 colourful shades. I really love the burgundy shadow, it's perfect for this time of year. My favourite shade in the whole palette is 1987, which is a really pretty gold. I regularly like to wear a light brown smoky eye with a pop of gold in the centre, and this palette is perfect for creating this look.

The colours are very pigmented and blend together beautifully, enabling you to create so many versatile make-up looks. I created this look using 'Bathwater' all over my lid, which is a pretty peachy gold. I then used 'Anaheim' in the crease and finished off the look with a pop of '1987' in the centre of my lid. I can't wait to experiment more with the different colour combinations and create some unique looks.  It's definitely a palette that will take you through the seasons, as the light champagne and peach tones will look pretty for summer, whilst the dark browns and burgundy's will look sultry for the winter.

Overall, I really can't fault this palette. The packaging is sturdy and easy to keep clean. The shades are versatile, yet very wearable, and all of them are hugely pigmented and easy to blend. What more could you ask for in an eye shadow palette! 10/10 Urban Decay!
